A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH PHILLIPS
CONSTRUCTION COMPANY IN THE AMOUNT OF
$52,500 TO CONSTRUCT A NEW AFFORDABLE HOME
AT 1220 COLLEGE STREET, A COLLEGE STREET
MODEL BLOCK PROJECT.

WHEREAS, one of the City's goals in Model Blocks is to construct new affordable
housing on every vacant lot; and
WHEREAS, the proposal is consistent with the City's Consolidated Plan, which was
developed with extensive citizen participation, and identified the provision of standard,
affordable housing to low income persons as having a priority; and
WHEREAS, the College Street Model Block was planned by the East Little Rock
CDBG Redevelopment Area Committee and recommended to the Board by the Consolidated
Planning Committee.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into a contract to with Phillips
Construction Company, the low bidder meeting specifications, in an amount not to exceed
$52,500 for construction of an affordable home at 1220 College Street, a College Street
Model Block Project.
SECTION 2. Funding for this project is available from the HOME Investment
Partnership Program.
SECTION 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its
adoption.
