4 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO
5 ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH WHITEHURST BROTHERS
6 CONSTRUCTION FOR AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $350,000

8 TO CONSTRUCT SEATING AT THE RIVE, RFEST
9 AMPHITHEATRE; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

11 WHEREAS, the City has decided to promote a concert season at the Riverfest
12
Amphitheatre in the Julius Breckling Riverfront Park; and
13
14 WHEREAS, after the completion of an initial season with The Concert Co. and
15 Contemporary Productions as promoters, it has been determined that one thing that
16 could enhance the quality of the season is to provide permanent seating for at least some
17
18 of the seats; and
19 WHEREAS, after a competitive process the Whitehurst Brothers Construction
20 Company was selected to complete this contract.
21 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS

23 OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
24 SECTION 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into a contract with the
25 Whitehurst Brothers Construction Company in an amount not to exceed three hundred
26
and fifty thousand dollars ($350,000.00) to construct permanent seating at the Riverfest
27
28 Amphitheatre in the Julius Breckling Riverfront Park.
29 SECTION 2. The funding for this project is available in Account No. 210 -030-
30 0600 as noted in Little Rock, Ark., Ordinance No. 17,336 (December 10, 1996).
