4 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
5 ENTER INTO A ONE YEAR CONTRACT EXTENSION WITH
6 THE DIVISION OF ALCOHOL AND DRUG ABUSE
7 PREVENTION OF THE ARKANSAS DEPARTMENT OF
8 HEALTH IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $335,000 FOR
9 ADULT RESIDENTIAL TREATMENT SERVICES IN 1997
10 AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

12 WHEREAS, Little Rock Budget Ordinance 17,336 (December
13 17, 1996) appropriated $335,000 for adult residential
14 treatment services in 1997; and
15 WHEREAS, The Division of Alcohol and Drug Abuse
16 Prevention of the Arkansas Department of Health was awarded a
17 one year contract February 7, 1996, after a competitive
18 bidding process; and
19 WHEREAS, the Request for Proposals authorized a one year
20 extension of the contract at the sole option of the City;
21 and
22 WHEREAS, the City desires to extend the contract for one
23 year, based upon ADAP's satisfactory performance of the
24 initial contract.
25 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
26 OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
27 SECTION 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into
28 a one year extension of the contract with the Division of
29 Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention of the Arkansas Department
30 of Health in an amount not to exceed three hundred
31 thirty -five thousand dollars ($335,000).
32 SECTION 2. Funding is available from P.Z.T.
