A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH BLACK COMMUNITY
DEVELOPERS, INC., WATERSHED, INC., CAMP
ALDERSGATE, THE LITTLE ROCK HOUSING AUTHORITY
AND PARKVIEW CHRISTIAN CHURCH /STEP UP CENTER,
FOR AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $425,000 FOR YOUTH
INTERVENTION PROGRAM SERVICES IN 1997,
AUTHORIZING TWO ADDITIONAL ONE YEAR TERMS AT
THE SOLE OPTION OF THE CITY, AND SUBJECT TO
APPROPRIATION; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, Little Rock Budget Ordinance 17,336, (December
17, 1996) appropriated $425,000 for youth intervention
program ('YIP'S) services; and
WHEREAS, providers were solicited through a Request for
Proposals bid process; and
WHEREAS, a Selection Committee reviewed the responses
received, determined the lowest responsible bidders, and
recommends Black Community Developers, Inc., Watershed, Inc.,
Camp Aldersgate, the Little Rock Housing Authority and
Parkview Christian Church /Step -up Center for contract awards.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into
contracts with Black Community Developers, Watershed, Inc.,
Camp Aldersgate, the Little Rock Housing Authority and
Parkview Christian Church /Step -up Center for YIP services at
it sites in a total amount not to exceed $425,000. The
contract price for each site is approximately $35,000. The
initial term of the contract shall be from January 1, 1997,
through December 31, 1997. Said contract shall contain a
provision for two one -year extensions, at the sole option of
the city, and subject to appropriation.
