WHEREAS, the Board of Directors does not believe that a residency requirement for employment with the City of Little Rock has proven to be in the best interests of the City; and WHEREAS, the City believes that some recognition for employment should be given to applicants who reside within the City when all applications are otherwise equal; and WIDMEAS,. it is the responsibility of the City Manager, as chief Personnel officer for the City, to implement such an intent. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: Section 1. The Board of Directors states its intent that City residents applying for positions with the City be hired if that resident possesses equal qualifications with all other applicants for a particular job or position.
