A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO ACCEPT BIDS AND AWARD A
CONTRACT FOR THE PURCHASE OF TWO (2)
HIGH SIDE DUMP STREET SWEEPERS FOR
THE FLEET SERVICES DEPARTMENT TO BE
USED BY THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The City Manager is authorized to accept bids
and award a contract to Little Rock Equipment Sales of Little
Rock, Arkansas, the most qualified bidder meeting
specifications, in an amount not to exceed $205,102 for the
purchase of two (2) high side dump street sweepers for the Fleet
Services Department to be used by the Public Works Department.
SECTION 2. Funds are available for this purpose in account
number 600 - 360 - 6020 - 6021 -7060.
SECTION 3. This resolution shall be in full force and
effect from and after its adoption.

RECOMMENDATION AND DISCUSSION: It is recommended that the award be given to
Little Rock Equipment Sales. Scruggs Equipment was disqualified for the
following reasons:
1) Bid a dual engine system, not a single engine as specified
2) Bid dual rear tires, not single as specified
3) Bid air bag suspension, not leaf type as specified
These are deficiencies that will lead to higher maintenance and operating
cost.
