A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO ACCEPT BIDS AND AWARD A
CONTRACT TO MCV, INC. TO CONSTRUCT
HANDICAPPED ACCESS RAMPS AT VARIOUS
LOCATIONS IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE
1995 STREET RESURFACING PROGRAM.

WHEREAS, according to a federal district court ruling in
Rinney v. Yernsohm, 9F.3d 1067 (3rd Cir. 1993) access ramps must
be constructed to provide equal benefit to the physically
impaired; and
WHEREAS, this project will construct access ramps at
various locations in conjunction with the 1995 street
resurfacing program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The City Manager is authorized to accept bids
and award a contract to McV, Inc., the lowest responsible
bidder, in an amount not to exceed $367,664 ($334,240 contract
fee, plus 10% contingency) to construct handicapped access ramps
at various locations in conjunction with the 1995 street
resurfacing program.
SECTION 2. Funding is available in the 1995 street
resurfacing program account.
