A RESOLUTION RENAMING DUNBAR
COMMUNITY CENTER TENNIS COURTS TO
DR. M.A. JACKSON AND REV. L.H. MYERS
TENNIS COURTS.
WHEREAS, the Jackson /Myers Memorial Committee was formed in
the Spring of 1994 to establish a Memorial Tournament honoring
the memory of two distinguished gentlemen: Dr. M.A. Jackson and
Rev. L.H. Myers; and
WHEREAS, the department is requesting the renaming of the
Dunbar Tennis Courts in memory of these men and their
achievements; and
WHEREAS, a memorial plaque and lettering will be purchased.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The City Manager is authorized to endorse the
renaming of the tennis courts at the Dunbar Community Center to
Dr. M.A. Jackson and Rev. L.H. Myers Tennis Courts.
SECTION 2. Funds for this project are available from the
1995 Capital Improvement Bond Neighborhood Parks Improvements
Special Project and proceeds from the Myers /Jackson Tournament.
