3 A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING THE
4 WILLINGNESS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE
5 ROCK TO UTILIZE FEDERAL AID MONIES
6 FOR REMOVAL OF THE RAILROAD OVERPASS
7 ON EAST ROOSEVELT ROAD AND
S RECONSTRUCTION OF ROOSEVELT ROAD
9 BETWEEN CONFEDERATE BOULEVARD AND
10 CONNERCIAL LANE, A 1995 CAPITAL
11 INPROVEMENT BOND PROTECT.

13 WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock understands Federal -aid
14 Surface Transportation Program funds are available for certain
15 city projects; and
16 WHEREAS, the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department
17 has inspected the railroad overpass on East Roosevelt Road
18 between Confederate Boulevard and Commercial Lane and indicates
19 that this bridge is structurally deficient and requires
20 replacement; and
21 WHEREAS, this project will relocate the railroad track,
22 remove the bridge and reconstruct approximately 1,500 linear
23 feet of Roosevelt Road at grade between Confederate Boulevard
24 and Commercial Lane; and
25 WHEREAS, this two lane roadway will have sidewalks and cost
26 approximately $2,000,000.
27 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
28 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
29 SECTION 1. The City will participate in accordance with its
30 designated responsibilities in this project.
31 SECTION 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized and
32 directed to execute all appropriate agreements and contracts
33 necessary to expedite the construction of this city project.
34 SECTION 3. The City pledges its full support and hereby
35 authorizes the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation
36 Department to initiate action to construct this City project.

SECTION 4. This is a 1995 Capital Improvement Bond Project.
SECTION 5. This resolution shall be in full force and
effect from and after its adoption.
