RESOLUTION NO. 9,285
A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING A DESIRE TO
UTILIZE FEDERAL AID FUNDING AND TO
PROVIDE CITY MATCHING FUNDS FOR THE
CONSTRUCTION OF SIDEWALKS ALONG AND
ADJACENT TO BASELINE ROAD AND CHICOT
ROAD.
WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works identified areas
along Baseline and Chicot Roads that currently lack sidewalks as
requested by the Board; and
WHEREAS, this project was submitted to the Arkansas
Highway and Transportation Department for consideration and
Enhancement Funding as specified in the Federal ISTEA
Legislation in an effort to provide continuity and pedestrian
access in areas of Southwest Little Rock; and
WHEREAS, the project will cost approximately $250,000 with
the City's matching fund requirement being twenty percent (20 %)
or $50,000; and
WHEREAS, the sidewalk matching fund was initiated in 1991
with $100,000; and
WHEREAS, requests for this program have been few and none
received since March, 1993.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIREC'T'ORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The City Manager is authorized to reappropriate
funding to provide the necessary City match for subject sidewalk
improvements.
SECTION 2. Funds are available in account number
210- 220 -0193.
