3 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH NEW
4 FUTURES TO ADMINISTER THE PREVENTION,
5 INTERVENTION & TREATMENT GRANT PROGRAMS;
AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

7 WHEREAS, the City has available to it monies for
prevent' HEion, intervention and treatment programs as a
8 result of the one -half cent sales tax passed by the voters
9 as a result of the Future - Little Rock process, and
10 WHEREAS, New Futures has served as the City's
advisory agency on youth programs and issues and has
11 gained expertise to facilitiate the distribution of
12 neighborhood grants, and
13 WHEREAS, New Futures has the ability to administer
this program through December, 1994, evaluate the
14 effectiveness of its administrative efforts, and then to
submit a proposal for future service to the City, and
15
WHEREAS, this program will not cost the City any
16 expenditures except for certain budgeted printing expenses
17 or meeting costs that are already a part of the City's
budget,
18 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF
19 DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
20 SECTION 1: The City Manager is authorized to enter
21 into an agreement with New Futures, at no cost to the City
except for basic direct expenses that are already budgeted
22 for other programs, to administer and facilitate the grant
proposals received for prevention, intervention and
23 treatment programs that are a part of the Future - Little
24 Rock initiative.
25 SECTION 2: This Agreement will expire on December
31, 1994, unless extended, and New Futures shall be
26 required to report to the City Manager about the
effectiveness of its efforts and, if it wishes to
27 continue, shall submit a proposal for continued services.
