SERVICES FOR THE
OTHER PURPOSES.
DIRECT THE CITY
COMPETITIVE BIDS
PANIES TO CONDUCT
PARKING FINE
CITY; AND FOR
WfD;REAS, the City Manager recently requested proposals for
private companies and the City for the enforcement and conduct
of the City parking meters and parking fines; and
WHEREAS, as a result of several issues these bids were all
rejected; and
WHUZEAS, the City has shown a marked decrease in the
collection of parking meter revenue, and has also shown a marked
decrease in parking fine enforcement; and
WHEREAS, the collection of such revenues is essential to
the proper functioning of municipal government.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1: The City Manager is directed to prepare and
advertise requests for proposals including one from the City as
determined by the City Manager, to privatize the parking meter
and parking enforcement activities for the City of Little Rock,
Arkansas.
SECTION 2: This action is to occur immediately so that the
collection of revenues in 1994 may be increased, and so a more
appropriate budget projection can be made for 1995.
