A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO ACCEPT BIDS AND AWARD AN
ANNUAL CONTRACT FOR THE PURCHASE OF
9MM HANDGUNS AND ACCESSORIES FOR THE
POLICE DEPARTMENT.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to accept
bids and award a contract for the purchase of 9 MM handguns and
accessories to Clarksville Gun and Rod, the low bidder meeting
specifications, in the estimated amount of $73,650.
SECTION 2. Funds are available for this purpose in account
number 100 - 350 - 5100/5400/5500 -7029.
SECTION 3. This resolution shall be in full force and
effect from and after its adoption.

RECOMMENDATION AND DISCUSSION: It is recommended that this contract be
awarded to the low bidder meeting specifications, Clarksville Gun & Rod. GT
Distributors failed to bid all the accessories specified and they bid a Smith
& Wesson pistol. The Little Rock Police Department has standardized on the
Glock pistol. Fort Thompson bid was for night sights only, they did not bid
on the pistols or magazines.
