1 RESOLUTION No. 9,133
2 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY
3 MANAGER TO SELL SURPLUS CITY
4 PROPERTY AT 400 EAST SECOND STREET
5 TO THE CENTRAL ARKANSAS LIBRARY
SYSTEM; AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND
6 THE CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE DEEDS OF
7 CONVEYANCE; DESIGNATING THE
8 PROCEEDS THEREOF TO BE USED FOR CITY
9 PARR IMPROVEMENTS; AND FOR OTHER
10 PURPOSES.
11 AREAS, the City of Little Rock owns real property located
12 at 400 East Second Street in the City; and
13 WHEREAS, said property is adjacent to property owned by the
14 Central Arkansas Library System which desires to acquire the
15 property from the City to be used for parking for a new library;
and
16 WHEREAS, the 400 East Markham Street parcel has been
17 maintained as surplus property by the City and it is not needed
18 for City purposes; and
19 WHEREAS, said property has not been designated for park
20 purposes, therefore it is not necessary for the City to dispose
of the property by competitive bidding; and
21 WHEREAS, Central Arkansas Library System has agreed to pay
22 $20,000 for the purchase of the lot; and
23 WHEREAS, the City should sell the property to Central
24 Arkansas Library System and designate the proceeds for park
improvements.
25 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
26 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS THAT:
27 SECTION 1. The City Manager is authorized to sell City
28 property located at 400 East Second Street to Central Arkansas
29 Library Systems for the sum of $20,000.
SECTION 2. The Mayor and the City Clerk are authorized to
30 execute documents approved by the City Attorney for the
31 conveyance of the property.
32 SECTION 3. It is the intent of the Board of Directors that
33 the proceeds from the sale of the property shall be placed into
34 an account for special project improvements in City parks.
