RESOLUTION NO. 9,106
A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE GOVERNOR
TO MARE AN IM4EDIATE APPOINTMENT TO
FILL THE VACANCY IN THE THIRD
DIVISION OF THE LITTLE ROCK MUNICIPAL
COURT; FOR RECOMMENDING AN
APPOINTEE; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, on this same date, an Ordinance was adopted
creating the Third Division of the Little Rock Municipal Court;
and
WHEREAS, said Ordinance contained an emergency clause; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Board that the Governor
appoint David Alan Stewart as the Judge of the Third Division of
the Little Rock Municipal Court.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF
DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The Third Division of Little Rock Municipal
Court was created by Ordinance on this date, thereby creating a
vacancy for the judicial position.
SECTION 2. Under Article 7, Section 50 of the Arkansas
Constitution, the vacancy shall be filled by appointment by the
Governor.
SECTION 3. Due to the immediate need for the operation of
the Third Division of the Little Rock Municipal Court, this Board
hereby requests that the Governor fill the vacancy by appointment
as soon as possible.
SECTION 4. David Alan Stewart, Chief Deputy City Attorney
for the City of Little Rock, is a highly qualified attorney who

possesses all the skills, knowledge and demeanor desirable of a
person to fill the vacancy. He has expressed an interest in the
vacancy and is willing to serve if appointed.
SECTION 5. It is the desire and request of this Board that
David Alan Stewart be appointed by the Governor to fill the
vacancy that now exits.
