WHEREAS, an amendment to the Interlocal Agreement of February 15, 1990 for the operation of the Pulaski County Regional Jail was approved by Ordinance No. 16,478; and WHEREAS, after a competitive selection process and pursuant to said Ordinance, an Acceptance Agreement was executed between the City and Sedgwick James of the Carolinas ( Sedgwick) to evaluate the operational procedures and proposed budget of the Pulaski County Regional Jail; and WHEREAS, transitional tasks by Sedgwick are vital to the opening and operation of the Jail; and WHEREAS, it is necessary to act immediately to embark upon the transitional tasks to insure the effective opening and operation of the jail. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: SECTION 1. Unique and demanding circumstances require effective opening and operation the Pulaski County Regional Jail. It is imperative that the services of Sedgwick be immediately extended to provide transitional tasks to accomplish those objectives. SECTION 2. The proposed addendum to Acceptance Agreement of November 2, 1993 to December 15, 1993 with Sedgwick and attached to this Resolution is hereby approved. SECTION 3. The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute the attached addendum on behalf of the City.
