3 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY
4 MANAGER TO JOIN WITH THE ARKANSAS
5 HIGHWAY AND TRANSPORTATION DEPARTMENT
6 IN AN APPLICATION FOR A STORMWATER
7
8 POLLUTION CONTROL PERMIT; AND FOR
9 OTHER PURPOSES.

11 WHEREAS, the City has applied for a permit to be issued by
12 the Arkansas Department of Pollution Control and Ecology to
13 monitor and control the pollution of the stormwater runoff
14 occurring in the City limits; and
15
16 WHEREAS, the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department
17 (AHTD) is responsible for maintenance of approximately 92 miles of
18 roads within the City limits and must either obtain its own
19 stormwater permit or join with the City as a co- permittee; and
20 WHEREAS, the convenience and economy of public funds of
21 both the City and AHTD are best served by working together in this
22
23 effort as co- permittees; and
24 WHEREAS, AHTD will share in the City's expenses to
25 administer the conditions of the permit on a pro -rata basis
26 agreeable to both parties.
27 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
28 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:

30 SECTION 1. The City Manager is authorized to execute the
31 necessary documents to join with the Arkansas Highway and
32 Transportation Department in an application for a Stormwater
33 Pollution Control Permit.
34 SECTION 2. The City agrees to share in the expenses with
35 the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department to administer

the conditions of the permit, on a pro -rata basis.
