A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH
PRUDENTIAL INSURANCE COMPANY OF
AMERICA TO PROVIDE HEALTH CARE
INSURANCE COVERAGE FOR CITY OF LITTLE
ROCK EMPLOYEES FOR A 12 -MONTH PERIOD
EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 1994.

WHEREAS, a Request for Proposal for health insurance
benefits for City employees was issued in August, 1993, with a
proposed deadline of October 1, 1993; and
WHEREAS, in response to that request, seven organizations
submitted proposals; and
WHEREAS, although almost all the proposed options
represented reductions in cost while maintaining comparable levels
of benefits, some proposals presented a higher level of benefit;
and
WHEREAS, based on detailed analysis of all proposals, it is
recommended that the contract for be awarded to Prudential.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into a
contract with the Prudential Insurance Company of America to
provide health care insurance coverage for City of Little Rock
employees for a 12 -month period, effective January 1,. 1994.
