A RESOLUTION TO RENAME THE EAST LITTLE
ROCK. COMMUNITY COMPLEX THE NATHANIEL W.
HILL COMMUNITY COMPLEX.

WHEREAS, the East Little Rock Complex has become a focal
point of a crucial and necessary neighborhood within the City of
Little Rock; and
WHEREAS, the construction and implementation of this
complex was coordinated by Nathaniel W. Hill; and
WHEREAS, his work in this area included coordination of the
day care, health clinic, social service and library programs, and
WHEREAS, throughout his 24 years of service to the City of
Little Rock, Nathaniel W. Hill, has worked hard to assure that the
City always fulfills its mission to its citizens in a
compassionate and supportive manner in an effort to help its
citizens achieve their maximum potential; and
WHEREAS, Nathaniel W. Hill is distinguished as the first
African - American to be a department head for the City of Little
Rock; and
WHEREAS, these many accomplishments should serve as a role
model for youth throughout the City and particularly in the East
Little Rock community.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1: The Board of Directors recognizes and
congratulates Nathaniel W. Hill on his unselfish and excellent
service for 24 years to the citizens of the City of Little Rock,
Arkansas.
SECTION 2: In order to permanently recognize these

contributions, the Board of Directors, on the occasion of Mr.
Hill's retirement from active employment with the City, hereby
renames the East Little Rock Community Complex the Nathaniel W.
Hill Community Complex.
