3 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY
4 MANAGER TO EXTEND THE CONTRACT WITH
5 THE MEHLBURGER FIRM FOR ENGINEERING
6 SERVICES AND INSPECTION SERVICES FOR

8 CONSTRUCTION OF THE NEW CITY LANDFILL.

10 WHEREAS, a contract with the Mehlburger Firm of Little Rock
11 was authorized in Resolution No. 8,401 for engineering services
12 for closing the existing City landfill; and
13 WHEREAS, a contract with the Mehlburger firm of Little Rock
14
15 was authorized in Resolution No. 8,411 for multi -phase services
16 including existing landfill closure, and new landfill siting and
17 development; and
18 WHEREAS, an extension of a contract with the Mehlburger
19 Firm of Little Rock was authorized in Ordinance No. 16,132 and
20 Ordinance No. 16,299; and

WHEREAS, this contract extension will provide the office
22
23 engineering, on -site inspection services and soils and materials
24 testing during the construction period; and
25 WHEREAS, the City intends to obtain funds to accomplish the
26 Project from the proceeds of revenue bonds authorized by Ordinance
27 No. 16,409 (April 20, 1993).

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF

30 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
31 SECTION 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to extend
32 the present contract with the Mehlburger Firm of Little Rock in an
33 amount not to exceed $552,493 for engineering and inspection
34 services needed for the construction of the new City's landfill.
35
36 SECTION 2. Funding will be provided from the revenue
bond issue.
