The City Manager is authorized to enter into a contract with the Little Rock School District Transportation Department, in an amount not to exceed $8,000, to provide bus service for the summer playground program for the Parks & Recreation Department for the period June 21, 1993 through August 5, 1993. I E�.!�AYOR PURCHASING FACT SHEET BID NO: 93144 DATE OPENED DEPARTMENT: Parks & Recreation March 15, 1993 DESCRIPTION: Bus Service for Summer Playground Program FUNDING: General ACCOUNT NUMBER: 100 -230- 3340 -6210 APPROPRIATION OR TRANSFER REQUIRED: None ACCOUNT AVAILABILITY: 35,000.00 AMOUNT OF PURCHASE: $ 8,000.00 (estimated) SUGGESTED AWARDEE: Little Rock School District Department of Transportation RECOMMENDATION AND DISCUSSION: It is recommended that the City accept the attached proposal by the Little Rock School District for transportation services. Their proposal is based on an estimated 232 trips which could vary due to weather conditions or participation. The estimated amount of this contract is $8,000. Bids were solicited, however none were received. The last time a bid was submitted was in 1990 and it was for $22,407. Little Rock School District's Transportation Department has provided this service to the Summer Playground Program for the past 15 years. The Little Rock School District Transportation Department will provide transportation support for the Parks and Recreation Department of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas from June 21, 1993 through August 5, 1993 at a daily rate per bus based on $26.00 for the driver and $1.10 per mile travelled.
