A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH LA DESIGN
COMPANY /WITSELL EVANS 6 RASCO. JOINT VENTURE, FOR
THE CHILDREN'S DISCOVERY ZOO PROJECT DESIGN AND
ENGINEERING CONSULTANT CONTRACT.
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 15,974 appropriated 50% of
Zoo admission fee increases to the Zoo Capital Improvement
Fund for projects approved in the most current Little Rock
Zoo master plan; and
WHEREAS, the City has been asked to share in the
cost of a Children's Discovery Zoo Project, and its $35,000
share is available in the Zoo Capital Improvement Fund;
WHEREAS, the Friends of the Zoo have pledged
$35,000 to the consultation and design of the Children's
Discovery Zoo Project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF
DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1: The City Manager is hereby authorized to
transfer $35,000 from Zoo Capital Improvement Fund Special
Project into the Children's Discovery Zoo Project.
SECTION 2: The City Manager is hereby authorized to
accept a $35,000 contribution from the Friends of the Zoo
into the Children's Discovery Zoo Project.

SECTION 3: The City Manager is hereby authorized to
award a contract to LA Design Company /Witsell Evans & Rasco,
Joint Venture, for inventory analysis, program development,
preparation of alternative plans, final site plans, and
preliminary cost estimates for the Children's Discovery Zoo
and Entry Plaza in an amount of $68,500.
