A RESOLUTION REAFFIRMING EQUAL
EMPLOYMENT PRACTICES AND POLICIES FOR
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK; AND FOR
OTHER PURPOSES,

WHEREAS, the City adopted Little Rock, Ark., Ordinance No.
12,195 (April 2, 1974), establishing an absolute commitment to the
concept of equal employment opportunities without regard to race,
color, sex, national origin, age, or political or religion
opinions and affiliations; and
WHEREAS, this dedication was reaffirmed by Little Rock,
Ark., Resolution No. 6,766 (March 31, 1982); and
WHEREAS, the City has recently reviewed and revised its
affirmative action plan for assuring that its goals are met to
provide equal opportunities to all persons.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1: The Board of Directors for the City of Little
Rock reaffirms the personnel policies adopted by Little Rock,
Ark., Ordinance No. 12,195, as reaffirmed in Little Rock, Ark.,
Resolution No. 6,766, and restates its absolute commitment to the
assurance of equal employment opportunities for all employees
without regard to race, sex, color, age, religion, national
origin, physical or mental disabilities, veteran status, or
otherwise.
SECTION 2: The Board of Directors earnestly solicits the
support of every employer within the City to make a similar
commitment and urges that all employers participate in an effort
to affirmatively seek elimination of any dispirit treatment of
employees because of race, sex, color, age, religion, national.
origin, physical and mental disabilities, veteran status, or
otherwise.
SECTION 3: This resolution shall be in full force an
effect from and after the date of its adoption.
