A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO ACCEPT BIDS AND AWARD CONTRACTS FOR
ASPHALTIC MATERIALS FOR PUBLIC WORKS
OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1: The City Manager is hereby authorized to accept
bids and award contracts to the low bidders for each item shown on
the attached bid tabulation, in an amount not to exceed the
budget, for the purchase of asphaltic materials for Public Works
Operations Department. In the event the primary contractor cannot
provide asphaltic materials for jobs in progress or in cases where
it would be economically unfeasible to pick up materials due to
distance from the job site, it is recommended that secondary
awards be made for Items 4, 5, and 8.

RECOMMENDATION AND DISCUSSION: It is recommended that the low
bidder for each item be given the award. It is further
recommended that secondary awards be made for Items 4,5 &. 8 if
the primary contractor can't provide the materials for Public
Works .jobs in progress or it would be economically unfeasible to
pick up from their plant due to distance from the job site.
Items 1,2,3,3A,6 & 7 were bid by the only known source of supply
in this area.
