A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO ACCEPT BIDS AND AWARD A CONTRACT FOR
THE PURCHASE OF COMPUTER HARDWARE (DISK
DRIVE, CONTROLLER AND WORK STATION
ADAPTOR BOARD) FOR THE OFFICE OF
MANAGEMENT SUPPORT.

WHEREAS, the City continues to experience growth of its
computer system, both in the number of on -line users and the
amount of DASD required to support additional software
applications; and
WHEREAS, the proposed hardware will increase the City's
communication network capability by thirty -two users and provide
an additional five giga -bytes of data storage.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1: The City Manager is hereby authorized to accept
bids and award a contract to Computer Sales International, Inc.
(CSI) in an amount not to exceed $20,834 to purchase computer
hardware (disk drive, controller and work station adaptor board)
for the Office of Management Support.

RECOMMENDATION AND DISCUSSION: It is recommended that the bid
submitted by Computer Sales International (CSI) be accepted.
They were the only bidder to respond to all items as called for
in the bid. Had the Neptune Group bid the adaptor their bid
would have exceeded C.S.I. Data Sales declined to bi.d
installation as required. The specification called for a
"Turnkey" contract, installation included. This was called for
so we would deal with one prime contractor responsible for all
guarantees and warranties.
