A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXPENDITURE OF FUNDS FROM
THE 1988 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT BOND PROJECT FOR
IMPROVEMENTS TO HISTORIC BUILDING FACADES AS APPROVED
IN THE CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 15,473 appropriated funds from the
1988 Capital Improvement Bond sale proceeds for projects which
included: $800,000 for the purpose of matching on a dollar -for-
dollar basis funds provided for the South Main Improvement
District and the Facade Grant Program; and
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 15,400 appropriated $300,000 for the
South Main Improvement District Project, thereby leaving a
balance of $500,000 to be used for the Facade Grant Program; and
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 8146 authorized the expenditure of
$500,000 for improvements to the historic building facades as
approved by the Architectural Review Committee; and
WHEREAS, the Architectural Review Committee for the Facade
Grant Program has reviewed and approved additional applications
for specific projects; and
WHEREAS, the Union Train Station has been determined to be
of historic and /or architectural significance to the Central
Business District, and the restoration of the windows, the
limestone and brick facade and replacement of downspouts will
enhance the structure and the surrounding area.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to expend
funds from the 1988 Capital Improvement Bond Project, Account No.
301 -8516 for the following project in the specified amount
listed:
Union Train Station, Markham & Victory Sts. $30,000
SECTION 2. This resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage and approval.
