A RESOLUTION AIITHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
EXTEND THE CONTRACT WITH ARKANSAS MUNICIPAL
LEAGUE (AML) FOR ONE YEAR COMMENCING NOVEMBER
5, 1991, TO ADMINISTER A SELF - INSURANCE
PROGRAM FOR CITY MOTOR VEHICLE LIABILITY.

WHEREAS, the Arkansas Code provides that municipalities are
liable for single person injury, multiple injuries per accident
and property damage up to $25,000, $50,000 and $15,000
respectively; and
WHEREAS, the City may either purchase commercial insurance
or provide its own coverage to meet these statutory obligations;
and
WHEREAS, the city has decided to provide its own coverage,
but has worked with the Arkansas Municipal League (AML) to
administer this program; and
WHEREAS, the annual cost with the Arkansas Municipal League
is $280 per vehicle which represents a 6.8% decrease over the cost
for the year ending October 31, 1991; and
WHEREAS, staff has contacted commercial insurance providers
and finds that AML's self - funded program provides the best value
for the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1: The City Manager is authorized to extend the
contract with Arkansas Municipal League (AML) for one year
commencing November 5, 1991, to administer a self - insurance
program for City motor vehicle liability.
