RESOLUTION NO. 8,561
A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING A MINORITY AND
WOMEN -OWNED BUSINESS PARTICIPATION POLICY FOR
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK.
WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock is committed to providing
equal opportunities in all procurement and contracting activities
in a manner that will not discriminate against any contractor on
the basis of race, religion, national origin, age, sex, or
physical handicap, and
WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock believes its commitment
should be supported by policies and procedures to promote
disadvantaged, minority and women -owned business enterprise
participation in City contracts, professional services, and other
purchasing activities.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1: It shall be the policy of the City of Little
Rock to provide and encourage targeted groups to participate in
all City contracts and purchases.
SECTION 2: The City Manager is hereby directed to develop
a comprehensive targeted group program within 60 days of the
passage of this resolution. This program shall include, but not be
limited to:
(a) a process for identifying qualified, bonafide
disadvantaged, minority and women -owned businesses in central
Arkansas,
(b) an outreach effort to provide timely information to
targeted groups about City contracting opportunities, and
(c) a monitoring, evaluation, and compliance component.
SECTION 3: This resolution shall be in full force and
effect from and afteri its adoption and approval.
