A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXTEND THE CONTRACT FOR PURCHASE OF RADIO COMMUNICATIONS EQUIPMENT FOR THE DEPART OF GENERAL SERVICES /FLEET SERVICES DIVISION. WHEREAS, the contract to Motorola, Inc. to purchase radio communications equipment for the Department of General Services /Fleet Services Division was approved by Resolution Number 8,274, dated March 20, 1990; and WHEREAS, the bid stated that if prices remained firm the City Manager could renew the contract for five years; and WHEREAS, staff recommends the extension of this contract as prices have remained firm. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: SECTION 1: The City Manager is hereby authorized to extend the contract with Motorola, Inc. for a one year period. SECTION 2: The City Manager is further authorized to approve future extensions in accordance with the bid specifications. Little Rock-, AR RECOMMENDATION AND DISCUSSION: This contract was approved by Resolution 8274, dated March 20, 1990. The bid stated that if prices remained firm the City could renew for five years with City Manager's approval. The fact sheet discussion presented to the Board included this information, however, the language was left out Of the resolution. It is recommended that the Board approve the extension of this contract as prices are firm and that the new resolution include provisions for the City Manager to approve future extensions in accordance with the bid specifications. f2 l�
