HomeMy WebLinkAbout8451T 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 33 34 35 36 NO. 8,451 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF THE INTERIOR FOR THE STUDY OF STORMWATER RUNOFF FOR A COST NOT TO EXCEED $27,000 IN FISCAL YEAR 1991; TO DIRECT THAT THE CITY ATTORNEY WORK OUT THE DETAILS OF SUCH AGREEMENT; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. WHEREAS, recently adopted federal regulations mandate that municipalities with populations in excess of 100,000 determine the quality of stormwater runoff, to control construction erosion, and to identify all industries with process- contaminated runoff, and WHEREAS, the United States Department of the Interior through the Geological Survey is willing to enter into a cooperative agreement with the City of Little Rock to conduct such a study, and WHEREAS, the cost of such study is estimated to be $54,000, with the City obliged to pay half of this cost, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: SECTION 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into an agreement with the U.S. Department of Interior to conduct the studies required by federal regulations concerning stormwater runoff and to further agree to the City paying up to $27,000 in 1991 as its portion of said study. SECTION 2. The City Attorney is directed to work with the City Manager and appropriate federal officials to determine the terms and conditions of this cooperative agreement. ADOPTED.
