3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER
4 INTO A CONTRACT AMENDMENT WITH PROFESSIONAL HEALTH
5 SERVICES FOR THE ADMINISTRATION OF 2026 FIREFIGHTER
6 CANCER SCREENINGS;AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

8 WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock, Arkansas (the "City"), through the Little Rock Fire
9 Department("LRFD"), provides annual physical examinations for eligible firefighters; and,
10 WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of the City of Little Rock adopted Little Rock, Arkansas
11 Resolution No. 17,080 on June 16, 2026, authorizing the City Manager to enter into a contract with
12 Professional Health Services for the administration of the 2026 Firefighter Physicals pursuant to Bid
13 No. 228309; and,
14 WHEREAS,LRFD desires to amend the contract with Professional Health Services to include the
15 administration of cancer screenings for eligible firefighters in conjunction with the annual firefighter
16 physicals; and,
17 WHEREAS, the cancer screenings will be provided to firefighters who have seven (7) years of
18 service or who are at least thirty (30)years of age; and,
19 WHEREAS, the additional cost for the cancer screening is Fifty-Three and 00/100 Dollars
20 ($53.00) per eligible male employee and Sixty and 00/100 Dollars ($60.00) per eligible female
21 employee,with the difference in cost attributable to additional laboratory testing associated with breast
22 cancer screening; and,
23 WHEREAS, conducting cancer screenings simultaneously with the annual firefighter physicals
24 will minimize employee and department staff downtime,streamline the screening process,and promote
25 efficient administration of the required employee health services; and,
26 WHEREAS, the City Manager is authorized to execute contracts and amendments thereto on
27 behalf of the City when authorized by the Board of Directors.
28 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE
29 CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
30 Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a contract amendment with
31 Professional Health Services to provide cancer screening services for eligible Little Rock firefighters

1 in conjunction with the 2026 Firefighter Physicals authorized by Resolution No. 17,080,adopted June
2 16, 2026.
3 Section 2. The cancer screening services authorized by this Resolution shall be provided to
4 firefighters who have seven(7)years of service or who are at least thirty (30)years of age.
5 Section 3. The additional cost for the cancer screening services shall be Fifty-Three Dollars
6 ($53.00)per eligible male employee and Sixty Dollars($60.00) per eligible female employee, subject
7 to the terms of the contract amendment and the availability of appropriated funds.
8 Section 4. Funding for the services authorized by this Resolution shall be provided by the Little
9 Rock Fire Department General Fund Account No. 105101-63200.
10 Section 5.The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute all documents necessary to effectuate
11 the purposes of this Resolution, subject to approval as to form by the City Attorney.
12 Section 6. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
13 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
14 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of this resolution,which shall remain in full force and
15 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the
16 resolution.
17 Section 7. Repealer. All laws, ordinances and resolutions, or parts of the same, that are inconsistent
18 with the provisions of this resolution,are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
