The property is currently Zoned R-2. We are requesting a variance from Code Section: 36-254(3) to permit building an additional 2 car garage to the property. We seek to reduce the Rear yard setback from 25 feet to 12 feet. If granted, this variance will not burden neighboring properties, damage property values, or decrease the quality of life in the area. I'm asking for a Variance because I need a safe place to store my boat and UTV from theft and animals (rodents, racoons, feral cats, etc.). In the last 5 years I've had racoons get into storage areas of my boat 3 times and have babies, leave behind feces and chew through all the wiring for my motor. My boat, on the trailer, is 25ft long. This means I need to build a garage 30ft deep to store it which will cause it to cross the 25ft build line set back from the rear property line by 13ft, thus the reason for the variance. If granted the variance, the new garage will be built with brick and siding to match my home. The rear of my property abuts a green space.
