3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER
4 INTO A CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY AND THE LITTLE ROCK
5 SCHOOL DISTRICT FOR THE SCHOOL RESOURCE OFFICER
6 PROGRAM AGREEMENT FOR THE 2026-2027 SCHOOL YEAR AND
7 THE 2027 SUMMER SESSION;AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

9 WHEREAS,the City and the Little Rock School District("LRSD")have partnered together since 1998
10 to promote responsible, positive behavior among students of the district, to reduce juvenile crime, and to
11 ensure the safety of LRSD faculty,students,and staff;and
12 WHEREAS, in order to accomplish the objectives outlined above,the Little Rock Police Department
13 ("LRPD") and LRSD seek to continue working together through the ("SRO") Program, to ensure the
14 controlled interaction of LRPD Officers with LRSD students and staff;and,
15 WHEREAS, the LRPD seeks to enter the SRO Program agreement with the LRSD, to assign LRPD
16 Police Officers as School Resource Officers for the 2026-2027 school year and the 2027 summer session;
17 and,
18 WHEREAS, the annual renewal of this agreement will provide for up to two (2) LRPD Supervisors
19 and twenty-two(22)LRPD officers with the LRSD posting assignments;and
20 WHEREAS, the LRSD will reimburse the City for fifty (50) percent of the LRPD Supervisors' and
21 Officers'salaries,benefits,overtime,and compensatory time for those with LRSD School Resource Officer
22 assignments while school is in session.
23 NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
24 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS;
25 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into the SRO Program Agreement on behalf of
26 LRPD for the 2026-2027 LRSD school year and the 2027 LRSD Summer Session.
27 Section 2. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
28 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
29 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and
30 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the
31 resolution.
32 Section 3.Repealer.All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same,that are inconsistent with
33 the provisions of this resolution,are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
