3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER
4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH KATHERINE WEST AND GLENN
5 NISHIMURA TO GRANT THEM NAMING RIGHTS FOR THE
6 MACARTHUR DOG PARK SHADE STRUCTURE; AND FOR OTHER
7 PURPOSES.

9 WHEREAS, previous Little Rock, Ark Resolution No. 16,891 (December 2, 2025) authorized the
10 Mayor and City Clerk to execute documents necessary to accept a donation from Katherine West and Glenn
11 Nishimura in the amount of One Hundred Thousand Dollars($100,000.00)for the purpose of constructing
12 a shade structure at the Dog Park within MacArthur Park; and,
13 WHEREAS, in light of the West-Nishimura monetary donation towards the shade structure
14 construction budget,the City's Parks and Recreation Department wishes to grant Katherine West and Glenn
15 Nishimura naming rights for the dog park shade structure at MacArthur Park for a term of twenty (20)
16 years; and,
17 WHEREAS,the proposed name for the MacArthur Dog Park Shade structure is Chris's Frisbee.
18 NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
19 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS;
20 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into a contract with Katherine West and Glenn
21 Nishimura to grant them naming rights for the MacArthur Dog Park shade structure to be christened as
22 Chris's Frisbee,for a term of twenty(20)years.
23 Section 2.The City will"prepare,or cause to be prepared,the site for the shade structure by performing
24 light grade work and constructing the concrete footer following construction details and specifications
25 provided by the fabricator of the Shade Structure.
26 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
27 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
28 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and
29 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the
30 resolution.
31 Section 4.Repealer.All laws, ordinances, resolutions,or parts of the same,that are inconsistent with
32 the provisions of this resolution,are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
