3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE
4 ANY NECESSARY ARKANSAS HISTORIC PRESERVATION PROGRAM
5 HISTORIC PRESERVATION RESTORATION GRANT DOCUMENTS
6 WITH THE ARKANSAS DEPARTMENT OF PARKS, HERITAGE AND
7 TOURISM; TO ACCEPT NINETY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($90,000.00)IN
8 GRANT FUNDING AWARDED TO THE CITY FOR CONSERVATION AND
9 RESTORATION OF THE LITTLE ROCK ZOO'S HERSCHELL -
10 SPILMAN CAROUSEL;AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

12 WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the Little Rock Zoo and the Grants Division of the
13 Finance Department to apply and accept Historic Preservation Restoration Grant funds from Arkansas
14 Department of Parks, Heritage and Tourism's Arkansas Historic Preservation Program, which will be
15 utilized for the conservation and restoration of the Little Rock Zoo's Herschell-Spilman Carousel including
16 its 24 rounding boards,24 decorative medallions,and 24 wheel covers; and,
17 WHEREAS,the acceptance and use of Historic Preservation Restoration Grant funds totaling ninety
18 thousand dollars($90,000.000)would require a City match of Forty-five Thousand Dollars($45,000.00).
19 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
20 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS;
21 Section 1.The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute any necessary documents to accept Ninety
22 Thousand Dollars ($90,000.000) in Historic Preservation Restoration Grant funding from the Arkansas
23 Department of Parks,Heritage and Tourism's Arkansas Historic Preservation Program for conservation and
24 restoration of the Little Rock Zoo's Herschell- Spilman Carousel.
25 Section 2. If received,these funds will be intended for the conservation and restoration of the Herschell
26 - Spilman Carousel including its 24 rounding boards,24 decorative medallions,and 24 wheel covers.
27 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
28 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
29 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and
30 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the
31 resolution.

1 Section 4.Repealer.All laws,ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same,that are inconsistent with
2 the provisions of this resolution,are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
