SUBJECT: Structural Assessment of 1409 Rock, MacArthur Park Historic District
This memorandum serves as documentation that the single-family structure, located at 1409
Rock Street, is within the MacArthur Park National Register and local ordinance historic district.
As such, and due to the extent of damage the structure incurred by the 21 January tornado, there
were several assessments of structural damage within the tornado affected area.
The City of Little Rock, both the Public Works and the Rebuild assessment team, determined
that 1409 Rock structure was destroyed by the tornado; the Arkansas Historic Preservation
Program assessed the damage within the historic district and also concluded that the structure
was destroyed. Documentation of these assessments is enclosed for your reference.
Your organization's assistance to Little Rock's affected areas certainly is appreciated and the
concern for the city's historic districts is admirable. Should you need additional information as
