Subject: 1418 Rock Street Certificate of Occupancy
Date: January 31, 2014
The property at 1418 was not built to the standard that the Historic District Commission
mandated in their October 8, 2012 hearing. Below are the differences:
1. No vent pipe was installed on the north side of the roof since fireplace was not
installed. This subtraction is approved by Staff.
2. Guardrails were installed on the front porch as well as handrails on the steps that
were not approved. This addition was required by city codes for safety issues.
3. The set of three ganged windows in the center of the building on the south
facade were not installed as prescribed. These windows are on a secondary
facade and not readily visible from the street.
4. There is an accent panel below the windows described above that was not
approved. This panel is on a secondary facade and not readily visible from the
street.
5. One additional window was installed on the south facade than was approved.
The addition of a window on a secondary facade near the rear of the structure is
not an issue.
6. Lighting on front porch is not as approved. This substitution is minor.
7. No vent was installed on front gable. This subtraction is approved by Staff.
The Certificate of Occupancy can now be issued.
