Although we hate to see demolition take place within a historic district and, in general, do not support this activity, these four structures have been neglected to the point where there is no other recourse. The house at 314 E. 14th Street, however, still contributes to the district and retains several distinguishing original characteristics such as its two over two windows and decorative shingle work in the front gable. Although severely deteriorated, our office feels it should be retained and rehabbed as a model for the neighborhood. If you have questions concerning this transmittal, please contact Randy Jeffery of my staff at 324-9880. Sincerely, Cathy Bu Slater State Hist is Preservation Officer CBS : RJ: kg 1500 Tower Building ■ 323 Center a Little Rock, Arkansas 72201 O Phone (501) 324-9880 Fax (501) 324-9154 A Division of the Department of Arkansas Heritage (0
