HomeMy WebLinkAbout17067 1 RESOLUTION NO. 17,067 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CREATION OF A TEMPORARY 4 ENTERTAINMENT DISTRICT FOR ONE (1) DAY ON JUNE 20, 2026, FOR 5 THE JUNETEENTH IN DA ROCK STREET FESTIVAL IN RESPONSE TO 6 THE FRIENDS OF THE MOSAIC CULTURAL CENTERS'APPLICATION; 7 AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 8 9 WHEREAS, on July 23, 2019, the Board of Directors of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, passed 10 Little Rock,Ark.,Ordinance No.21,761 ("LRO 21,761")which permitted the creation of a District pursuant 11 to Arkansas State Law and City Ordinance; and, 12 WHEREAS, the City Board of Directors has determined the creation of a Temporary Entertainment 13 District as proposed by LRO 21,761, is appropriate as recommended by the Planning& Development 14 Department. 15 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 16 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS; 17 Section 1.The Friends of Mosaic Cultural Center Entertainment District is hereby created by the City 18 of Little Rock as a Temporary Entertainment District on June 2, 2026, and subject to LRO 21,761 as 19 amended and its defined terms. 20 Section 2. Boundaries. The temporary boundaries of the Friends of the Mosaic Cultural Center 21 Entertainment District include the location of the temporary entertainment district that runs along Historic 22 9th Street from Broadway to State Street to encompass Arch and Gaines. 23 Section 3. Timeframe. The Friends of the Mosaic Cultural Center Temporary Entertainment District 24 will be designated as a Temporary Entertainment District upon the adoption of this Resolution and shall 25 expire on June 20,2026.The date and time is June 20,2026,from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m.The City reserves the 26 right to amend the boundaries and hours of operation at its sole discretion. 27 Section 4. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 28 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 29 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and 30 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the 31 resolution. 32 Section 5.Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same,that are inconsistent with 33 the provisions of this resolution,are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
