HomeMy WebLinkAbout17060 1 RESOLUTION NO. 17,060 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER 4 INTO A ONE (1)-YEAR CONTRACT WITH SAFETY NATIONAL 5 CASUALTY CORPORATION, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED TWO 6 HUNDRED FORTY-EIGHT THOUSAND, NINE HUNDRED SEVENTY 7 DOLLARS ($249,876.00), PLUS APPLICABLE TAXES AND FEES, FOR 8 EXCESS WORKERS' COMPENSATION INSURANCE FOR A ONE (1) 9 YEAR TERM FROM JULY 1, 2026, TO JULY 1, 2027; AND, FOR OTHER 10 PURPOSES. 11 12 WHEREAS, it is necessary for the City of Little Rock (the "City") to purchase an excess workers' 13 compensation insurance policy for inclusion in its coverage portfolio, and; 14 WHEREAS,the City's current Insurance Broker, Arthur J.Gallagher Insurance, ("Broker")has solic- 15 ited quotes for this policy coverage;and, 16 WHEREAS,the recommendation is to bind the renewal quote from Safety National Casualty Corpo- 17 ration for the term of July 1,2026,to July 1,2027;and, 18 WHEREAS,the City elected to bind coverage with Safety National Casualty Corporation for a two- 19 year term with annual installments and wishes to exercise the second one-year term option. 20 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 21 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 22 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into a contract with Safety National Casualty Cor- 23 poration to secure excess workers' compensation insurance for the City for a premium not to exceed Two 24 Hundred Forty-Eight Thousand, Nine Hundred Seventy Dollars ($249,876.00), plus applicable taxes and 25 fees, for the term of July 1,2026,to July 1,2027. 26 Section 2. Funds for this agreement are included in the 2026-2027 City budget under line items for 27 Excess Workers' Compensation Insurance,Account No. 100000-14010. 28 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 29 word of this Resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional,such declaration or adju- 30 dication shall not affect the remaining portions of the Resolution which shall remain in full force and effect 31 as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the reso- 32 lution.
