RE: Building Inspection for Core Properties, LLC
1 o20 Rock Street
Little Rook, Arkansas
our Project Number 07-076
Dear Ms. Core,
On July 29, 2006 and again, today i Inspected the burned remains of the above referenced building.
The purpose of this letter is to express an opinion of the condition and stro turai stability of kite existing
exterior masonry wails. Neither the inspection nor this report is intended to cover architectural,
mechanical or electrical features.
The existing exterior brick walls are over 20 feet high with no lateral support at the top of the walls
except at three & the four corners and at the mid -point of the front fapade. Since my inspection on July
29, 2?06 savarei severe cracks have developed or widened at the corners which render the stabilizing
benefits of the comars signifioaLit ly compromised. Tha charred wooden roe! beam bracing the midpolnt
of the front fagade is likely to collapse at arty time, which could either pull or push the front facade
causing Immediate and sudden failure and collapse. The front face is currently out of plumb
significantly and leaning toward the street. The numerous wali cracks And weathered mortar along with
the, front wail fagathe being out 01 plumb make the feasibility of salvaging the existing welts very
doubtful.
The existing walls pose a serious current danger due to possible collapse. We recommend :hat all
existing oortions of the above grade structure be razed at the earliest possible time. Until the structure
is razed access within the strut lure and within a distance of at least equal to the wall height ou'side the
building should be restricted immediately.
If you have any questions in regard to the above or If you need any further information, please give us a
call.
Sincerely,
a&
Frank M. Allison, P. E.
