L am requesting a permit to demolish the structure at 1020 Rock Street.
A fire in July totally gutted the bui (ding and structurally datraged the exterior walls.
We have finally settled with the insurance company and are working with them on the
demolition fees_
The strucwrai engineer hired by the insurance company and the structural engineer
contracted by our architect (Jameson Architects) agree that the exterior wails and brick
are too damaged to be retained. Two of the four exterior walls are leaning and continue
to move.
The current issue is one of safety. The structure needs to be removed before it fails.
We intend to salvage the architectural elements and brick for rebuilding.
