RESOLUTION CONCERNING SUPPORT OF HISTORIC
DISTRICT ORDINANCES
WHEREAS, ensuring preservation of our precious historic resources is one of Landmarks Trust's
primary responsibilities; and
WHEREAS, historic district ordinances at the city, state, and federal levels serve to protect our
community's historic landmarks; and
WHEREAS, unchecked alterations to historic structures often permanently destroy or damage the
structure or its important architectural features;
WHEREAS, historic preservation may not always be the most popular endeavor in the short term,
it ultimately serves the whole of our community, city, and state; and
WHEREAS, historic preservation is often accomplished through efficient ordinances ensuring the
safeguard of our irreplaceable historic landmarks; and
WHEREAS, historic preservation is the core belief of Landmarks Trust of Greater Little Rock;
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED BY TIDE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
LANDMARKS TRUST OF GREATER LITTLE ROCK:
Landmarks Trust of Greater Little Rock supports historic preservation ordinances, regulations,
and laws and supports their enforcement for the sake of saving our precious historic structures.
