Dear Jay,
On behalf of the Little Rock Historic District Commission (LRHDC), I am writing to notify you
that the chain link fence in the rear of your property at 512 East 9th Street does not comply with
the design guidelines for MacArthur Park Historic District. While chain link is permitted in the
rear yard, it must not be seen from the street, be a dark color and have a "creeping cover" on it as
additional screening.
I understand that the contractor received a permit for its installment, even though it was not
approved by this office. Due to the fact that the fence may be seen from the street, you are
requested to appear before the LRHDC at its next scheduled meeting on Monday, 29 November
at 5:00 p.m. in City Hall's Sister Cities Conference Room to present your actions and work.
