Dear ti .
On behalf of the Little Rock Historic District Commission (LRHDC), I am writing to notify you
that the chain link fence in the rear of 514 East 9th Street was inspected and discussed at the
6 January 2000 meeting. While chain link is permitted in the rear yard, it must not be seen from
the street, be a dark color and have a "creeping cover" as additional screening. It was decided
that you have six months in which to comply with the design guidelines for MacArthur Park
Historic District. The six months commences upon your receipt of this letter.
While a permit was issued for the work, the LRHDC was not given the opportunity to discuss the
details and the necessity of a colored fence and a creeping cover. It is the LRHDC's opinion that
six months provides you with an opportunity to bring the chain link fence into compliance.
We appreciate your hard work, investment and ownership in the historic district, but the LRHDC
is committed to the city ordinance and design guidelines; the fence must be brought into
compliance. If there are questions, you may reach me at 244-5420.
Respectfully,
V—A.A_ L
