Dear Commissioners:
I am writing in support of Michael Preble's application for demolition of the
property at 1006 Rock Street.
As a resident of the neighborhood and an employee of the Arkansas Arts Center
for over 20 years, as well as a two -term president of the MacArthur Park Neighborhood
Association, I am familiar with this house and its long history of vacancy and
deterioration.
recognize that its rehabilitation is not feasible and support its demolition. I know
Mr. Preble regrets, as I do, that so little care was taken in the last twenty years. Mr.
Preble's intention to landscape the site seems most appropriate and his sensitivity to
the neighborhood and the streetscape is to be appreciated.
