HomeMy WebLinkAbout17051 RESOLUTION NO. 17,051 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER 4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH MUSCO SPORTS LIGHTING, LLC IN AN 5 AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED SIX HUNDRED SEVENTY-FIVE 6 THOUSAND DOLLARS ($675,000.00), PLUS APPLICABLE TAXES AND 7 FEES, FOR THE PURCHASE OF NEW SPORTS LIGHTING TO BE 8 INSTALLED AT THE CITY'S INTERSTATE PARK SPORTS COMPLEX 9 IN FIELDS 4, 5, & 6; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 10 11 WHEREAS,the existing sports lighting system at Interstate Park has exceeded its useful lifecycle and 12 requires replacement to continue being a viable, safe,well-lit community space for recreation; and, 13 WHEREAS, City residents have advocated for improvements, including updated lighting for the 14 playing fields within this Park to ensure a well-lit,safe recreational space for residents and visitors; and, 15 WHEREAS, Little Rock, Arkansas Resolution No. 15,382 (January 19, 2021) initiated a City 16 commitment to address the lack of development in and around the South End of Ward 1, the 12th Street 17 Corridor,portions of Southwest Little Rock in Ward 2,the John Barrow Corridor in Ward 6,and additional 18 areas in Southwest Little Rock within Ward 7; and, 19 WHEREAS, one of the Targeted Community Development Initiatives under this program would 20 replace the aged lighting within Interstate Park;and, 21 WHEREAS, pursuant to Little Rock,Ark. Resolution No. 16,603 (February 18, 2025), as amended, 22 the vendor selection of Musco Sports Lighting, LLC was made by using the Sourcewell Purchasing 23 Agreement Contract No. 041123-MSL; and, 24 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE 25 CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS; 26 Section 1.The City Manager is authorized to enter into a contract with Musco Sports Lighting,LLC in 27 an amount not to exceed Six Hundred Seventy-Five Thousand Dollars($675,000.00), including applicable 28 taxes and fees, for the purchase of new sports lighting to be installed at the City's Interstate Park Sports 29 Complex in Fields 4,5,& 6. 30 Section 2. Funds for this expenditure are available in the Targeted Community Development Activity 31 Funds Account No. S10C373-108459. 32 Section 3. Severability.
