HomeMy WebLinkAbout17047 1 RESOLUTION NO. 17,047 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER 4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH GENE SUMMERS CONSTRUCTION, INC., 5 IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED TWO HUNDRED FORTY-THREE 6 THOUSAND, ONE HUNDRED EIGHTY-FOUR AND 80/100 DOLLARS, 7 ($243,184.80), FOR THE WEST 24TH STREET RECONSTRUCTION 8 PROJECT; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 9 10 WHEREAS, it has been deemed appropriate and necessary to make street and drainage 11 improvements to West 24th Street between Maple Street and Valmar Street;and, 12 WHEREAS, project improvements include construction of new curb & gutter, curb inlets, 13 underground drainage,reconstruction of an asphalt street,seeding&mulching and related work; and, 14 WHEREAS, Ten (10) responses to an Invitation to Bid ("ITB"), Bid No. 227216 for West 24th 15 Street Reconstruction were received by the City of Little Rock on April 8, 2026; and, 16 WHEREAS, It was determined that Gene Summers Construction, Inc. provided the lowest, 17 responsive,responsible bid meeting specifications; and, 18 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE 19 CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 20 Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute an agreement for the West 24th Street 21 Reconstruction project with Gene Summers Construction, Inc. in an amount not to exceed Two Hundred 22 Forty Three Thousand,One Hundred Eighty Four and 80/100 Dollars,($243,184.80),which is the base bid 23 amount of Two Hundred Two Thousand, Six Hundred Fifty Four and 00/100 Dollars, ($202,654.00) plus 24 a Twenty percent(20%)contingency if it is necessary. 25 Section 2. Funding for this project is from the 2022 Capital Improvement Bonds as authorized by 26 Resolution 15,968 (May 3,2023)with funds from Account Activity B 1 D005S. 27 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, 28 or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 29 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and 30 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the 31 resolution. 32 Section 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that are inconsistent 33 with the provisions of this resolution,are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
