COA REQUEST: Construct fences & replace windows
PROJECT BACKGROUND, DESCRIPTION AND ANALYSIS: The property is located
north of I-630, due west of MacArthur Park, on the west side of the street. It is the only two -
storied house on the west side of the street, which is predominately single family homes on this
block. The structure was constructed ca. 1912; it is listed as contributing in the architectural
survey of the MacArthur Park Historic District and individually designated on the National
Register.
The project request consists of several items for consideration: construct a wooden picket fence
along the property lines, where an iron fence was; construct a wooden picket fence ca. 40' from
sidewalk as a rear yard fence; replace windows on rear addition with Pella sashed windows; and
install screen door on rear entrance. The support documents provide detailed descriptions, and
the photos and drawings illustrate the locations and proposed product.
NEIGHBORHOOD IMPACT AND REACTION: At the time of distribution, there were no
objections, by letter or phone, to the applicant's request.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: It is staff recommendation that the request to:
0 replace the rear elevation windows be approved
0 construct two picket fences in the front and rear of the north side yard be
approved with a condition that their height be increased
NOTE: Should there be changes or alterations to the plans as presented and approved, staff will
be notified and appropriate measures taken.
