HomeMy WebLinkAboutHDC2000-019 Memorandum From V. Anne Guthrie, HPA From charles Toland, Permits Administrator, Subject: Permit For 1011 Rock Street 10/05/20006L TO: FROM DATE: City of Little Rock HISTORIC DISTRICT COMMISSION MEMORANDUM Charles Toland, Permits Administrator V. Anne Guthrie, Historic Preservation Administrator 5 October 2000 SUBJECT: Permit for 1011 Rock Street It This memo serves as administrative approval from the Little Rock Historic District Commission (LRHDC) allowing the contractor for 1011 Rock permission to obtain a permit. Since the structure is located within the MacArthur Park Historic District, exterior work comes under the LRHDC's jurisdiction. The property owner, Martha Roberts, informed me that the permit is for the installation of a new roof. Routine maintenance is allowed within the local ordinance historic district with administrative approval. The repairs should be performed in conformance to the district's design guidelines and appropriate to the structure: the proposed work will not alter the existing footprint, outline, profile, composition or change the configuration; there will be no change to the roof slope and no introduction of new architectural detailing or materials; and it is replacing asphalt shingles with asphalt shingles. As such, and meeting all city, building and health regulations, the application for a permit should be approved. If exterior changes or improvements are made that require a Certificate of Appropriateness (COA), staff will be notified and appropriate actions taken for a public hearing. Refer to the application instructions or the Design Review Guidelines: MacArthur Park Historic District for necessity of obtaining a COA.
